Search returns objects and total; a package can include name, version, description, license, publisher, maintainers, date, links, downloads, dependents, and score. Use name and version to distinguish a package from similarly named alternatives and open links.repository, links.npm, or homepage before adopting it. Downloads and score help discovery but change over time and do not prove security, compatibility, maintenance, or permission to use.
